Hey need a little help i am looking to upgrade my older computer with a new CPU. but i have seen conflicting story's. what i want is the best dual core processor that is compatible with my computer the mobo is NAOS-GL6 also called ASUS A8M2N-LA. i know you guys can help me solve my dilemma.

According to ASUSTek (http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?board_id=14&model=AC-P111&id=20060702012455779&page=1&SLanguage=en-us) this mobo has an AM2 slot. You might want to have a look at the AMD Athlon 64 X2 (dual core) CPU's.

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=us&docname=c00757531&dlc=en#N655 indicates that the mobo supports up to the Athlon 64 X2 5000+ CPU, with a BIOS update. Not sure if this BIOS update will allow you to install (and more importantly benefit from it) the later Phenom X3 or X4 CPU's. These are all AM2 processors.
