How much wattage (rms) should a PSU have a a evga 9800GTX+ SC model with an e7200 cpu @3ghz with 4 gigs of ram?

Basic HDD,burner,case, etc etc

I would prefer to only spend less then $60 us dollars. And no online shopping either.

www.centralcomptuers.com or www.frys.com only.

Thanks all!

my POWER meter show 300-375 watts with games that dont support SLI

ANd 400-475 with games that support it.

OCed cpu, water cooled, 10 fans total. with a normal system youll end up using 350W on gaming. I agreed to go with a nice CORSAIR or PC P&C .

Thanks for all your input guys. I personally own only PC@powercooling myself, but my friend here just wants something powerful enough for a maximum of 1 e7200 (oced to death) 4 gigs of ram and 1 9800gtx+. never to be upgraded after that. (he's going to build a new rig in a year.)

All of you came up with great suggestions, but i'm trying to stay cheap. $70 would be the most i would spend considering his needs are small. i'm fairly certian any good quality 500w-550w would be fine for him, but finding a good one for cheap,... damn near impossable.

The first one, CoolerMaster 550W, has the 2 PCI-E connectors you need. I cannot figure out if it's over 26A combined or not. It has 2 rails of max 16A each and they refuse to disclose the max combined amount between those rails.

The second one says two rails of 18A each and combined 30A. That's good, but it only has one PCI-E connector and you need two.

Basically, the first PSU might do the job, but I can't guarantee it. As far as quality goes, CoolerMaster has a bad reputation from past years but their newer models seem decent.

Hmm, better to be safe than sorry. I think an additional $20 for quality and piece of mind is just what I need.

I'll just go with the PC@powercooling 500W for $80. Does this model also have there famous single rail?

google their website and check out the specs to see if it does have it. Internet and google search ftw.

Yes, one rail, 35A.
