:hello: Good day! :hello:

Which of these is the best candidate most likely to run on an ASUS Crosshair AM2 [the original one] NV590-SLI Chipset?

I've seen some validations on M2N32-SLI but none on Crosshair.

940=125W TDP?
945=95W TDP
955=125W TDP
965=140W TDP?

Thanks much for your time and effort!

:hello: Cheers! :hello:

While the CPU support list does include 125W processors

The last BIOS update was about one year ago and I think it doubtful that you'll get a Phenom II working.

Also, I think you'll find the 940s are gone from the market now.

AM2 socket does not support Phenom 2 processors.

Hi! I just went out on a limb in a leap of faith kind of way and bought the AMD Phenom II X4 940BE anyways! Great upgrade for me as of the moment. Unknown processor is being shown in CPU-Z/CPU-ID but I don't mind, there is a vast improvement over the AMD Athlon X2 5000+BE on this one! Glad I made the right choice! Now to get those SLI AsuS GTX285 Matrix... :bounce: :hello: :love:
