I'm thinking of upgrading to an x58 LGA 1366 board and was wondering if Intel will be releasing anymore CPU's other than the i7 for this platform.

Whenever you would be thinking about upgrading your i7 your mobo would be outdated.Don't think about future cpu's.Just buy it for i7.
