Hi all,

I will be getting an 4870 X2 tomorrow but I have some questions,

-Will an AMD 64 4000+@ 2.82Ghz with 1.175Ghz BusSpeed, 2Gb DDR470@2.5-3-2-5-10-1T, bottleneck the VideoCard by more than 50%?(I will replace the whole computer in September,I had it for 5.5 yearz lolll)
.
-Will the PCI-E x16 be a limiting factor?

- The PSU requirement for it, is 650W+, but how much amps does it needs?

- I play @ 1680x1050 for now, after @ 2048 x 1152 when I get the Samsung 23.

- I heard that thers someting called SidePort, is it true or b.s?

- Finally, how is sapphire customer service, I heard that it is horrible?

Thanks

yes it will bottleneck, dont know how much but it will depend on resolution and no the x16 won't limit the card. there is a sideport feature but i believe amd disabled it. customer support is usually a mixed bag but i think sapphire support is one of the bad'ish ones.

Just wait until September and buy the new GPUs DX11 with your new computer.

Whats a better deal and will last more? 4870 X2---> 350$US or GTX 280 --->280$US ?

NOTE: Both are used, thats why its cheap. The GTX 280 have the EVGA Lifetime Warranty. I really need a fast answer ,

I only have 2 hours left 2 decide plzzzz

Thanks

Can you give us some sources on that. All I've read so far is that DX11 will also benefit DX10.a GPUs .
Also we wont see any DX11 games for a while. So untill those games come out you might as well upgrade your card.
I say if you see the need fo r a better card now just go and get it. Many people are arguing about waiting, but you might as well wait than for the new CPUs and new upgraded Motherboards and etc, etc,.. Tech gets updated continuously, so just waiting for the next best thing wont happen couse down the road there will always be something newer and better.

Cheers
