Im looking for the best x58 board for the money between $100-300. I have 2 gtx 285's, a corsair hx1000, 500gb seagate hdd and rom drive to go into this new build. I need a board that will be good for these 2 cards without a bottleneck and good for over clocking. also which ram should i get. I was thinknig around a 1333mhz to a 2000mhz but most x58 boards are 1333mhz native so if i get 2000mhz ram will this ram work if i dont overclock?

to sum it up which is a good x58 mainboard that will accomidate my needs and which ram will be better for me...ohh by the way its for a core i7 920

I have this board and love it:

or

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128362

all good boards IMO

if you want a cheaper x58 board that could hold you're 2 GTX 285's<---- (wish I had one haha) heres some alternatives

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128375 -Probably the best under $200 x58 board out there

well any of those will do you right, but if i were you id go for one of the higher end x58 Motherboards because you already have really high performance hardware atm, and you don't want to put that on a "Cheap" motherboard. :non:

RAM:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227381 - I have this ram
or
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145224 -really good ram little pricey though

and yes you're ram will work if you don't overclock but you will have to set timings in bios. :D

so i guess the asus board would be a good bet then...hell alien wear builds with this board to so it cant be bad. I have read that this board ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 is a bit faster than the evga classified. I have noticed that you have and recommend 1600mhz ram. why not 2000mhz - is this overkill. is G-Skill not a good brand? the trident model?

I doubt the ASUS P6T Deluxe v2 is faster than the EVGA Classified board, but its up there with it. EVGA has really good customer support as well as ASUS. about the ram, you can get some 1600 RAM and Overclock it a good amount, no use in wasting money for 2000 MHz Ram b/c the most x58 Boards don't support more than 2000 MHz RAM anyways. G-Skill is a good brand, also Corsair,Kingston,OCZ,Mushkin,etc..

Any of these are really good, but its up to you

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227365 -Same speed as the Corsair Dominator's i previously linked but $50 cheaper

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231225 ---You're G.skill option

all those should work well, and don't waste you're money on 2000 MHz ram. :D
