I have 2ghz, 2gigs of ram power supply is 430w motherboard is a K8T-Neo FSR

The best card for you at the moment in my opinion is a HD3650 AGP. There is talk of the 4650/4670 being made in AGP form but i havent seen them out yet.

I bought a Sapphire X1650PRO and the bios wont go to 512 the highest is 256

When you say the bios wont go to 512 im guessing you are changing the AGP aperture size ? If so put it back to where it was it has nothing to do with it. Some people used to say it was worth upping it a bit years ago but i have never bothered and never had an issue.
If im wrong then please explain further.

When I put it in my computer the video card locks up
