I know THW does a great job with power comparisons of cpus before and after OC. But I was wondering if there's a difference in power consumption between a stock cpu and another slower cpu OC'd to match the same speed.

Say if the 2.66 920 was OC'd to 3.06 to match the 950, does that necessarily mean the power consumption is the same or might something change?

Stock is easy to calculate. For CPU the only power figures I've seen are for Yorkfield overclocks @Anandtech. For i7 920 it's roughly 235W @4Ghz w/ HT and all threads loaded. Anything that's overclocked to match the speed of a higher grade processor using the same respective voltage and it'll be under the specified TDP.
