Hi, I am very confused about making a decision. that is, should i exchange my pc (Pentium D 3.4G, 4MB L2 - DELL OPTIPLEX GX620) with my friend's pc (DELL OPTIPLEX 755 - C2D 2.2, 2MB L2) ?
Why do you want to swap, the C2D is newer, what is the other specs of the dell machines, had a look online but there are many configurations, But I think the C2D will outperform the Pentium D even at its slower clocks and probably is running faster memory on a better chipset as well.
Well as for as i know, DELL branded computers perform better. Anways, I m comparing two DELLs.
One is: (DELL Optiplex GX620 - Pentium D 3.4GHz 4MB L2, 2 GB DDR2, 945 Express Chipset Family).
Other is (DELL Optiplex 755 - Core2Duo 2.2GHz, 2MB L2, 2GB DDR2, Q35 Express Chipset Family)
Now i guess its easy for you people to help me choose.
Thanks.

The Core 2 Duo is superior to the P4. While the 3.4GHz dual core P4 was a good CPU in its day, it produces more heat and offers less performance (especially noticeable in games) than a Core 2 duo at 2.2Ghz. Get the Core 2 Duo, like now.
