Hi

I bought a new pc 5-7 months ago with the following specs :

GA-EX58-UD3R
Intel Core i7 920
Kingston 6GB DDR3
XFX 9800GTX+
WD 500GB HD
Gigabyte 800w Odin

The pc was working fine until today when it failed to boot

I switch on the pc , The screen is blank , No beep sound

I tried google but most solutions requires to open up the case which i haven't done before

So what should i do now? I read the reseting the CMOS Battery might fix it but not sure how do that.

I can take it to the shop where i bought it from and let them check it.

Suggestions?

Oh and btw 2 days ago i UNDERclocked on Video Card(Had issues in WoW) could that be the problem?

Thanks

When you switch on PC - even though the screen is blank - is the PC operating? Are the power lights on and can you hear it operating?

Is the PC a brand name one or a custom build?

It could be an issue with the changes in the video card, if computer is starting. If so, do you have another video card you can try, maybe borrow one from a friend just to see if it will make your system work?

It also might help to remove and reinstall the CMOS battery, which is very easy to do. Do you have a manual for the system or mobo? Either should provide instructions. If you don't have one but can get online on another computer you can download one from the manufacturer. The manual should also explain how to reset CMOS without removing the battery by putting a jumper on two prongs on the mobo - you might need to get the jumper - a tiny, two bit piece of metal - from you computer store.

Thanks for the reply

Yes the pc is operating , The fan is running , Power light is on but no beep sound

Tho there is another light that usually goes on from time to time ( i think it's the HD indicator ) but it doesn't go on

I opened the side case and searched for the cmos reset prongs but they turned out to be blocked by the video card

Too bad i can't get a video card to test it on my pc.

Oh and yes it's a custom build.

I think i'm gonna take it to the shop tomorrow , Thanks for your help
