I'm building a new i7 PC for the first time and ordered XILENCE Gaming Edition 600 W PSU for ASUS p6t se motherboard.
After that I've read a review for this Xilence PSU which states that:

Quote :

But there is only a 4pin secondary motherboard cable so those of you that need that 8pin won't be powering you're rig with this PSU

However on the Xilence website specs are:
20+4 PIN (MB): 1x
Small 4PIN (HDD/FDD): 2x
Big 4PIN (HDD/FDD): 6x
S-ATA: 4x
6+2Pin PCI-Express: 1x
6Pin PCI-Express: 1x
4+4PIN 12V (MB): 1x
3Pin Fan Detector 1x

Reading the description about 4+4 pin power cable I understand that it can work as 8-pin ATX 12V Power connector which is neded by ASUS p6t SE motherboard.

So my question is: will I be able to use XILENCE 600W PSU [SPS-XP600.(135)R] with ASUS P6T SE motherboard?

You can use a 4 pin connector on an 8 pin mobo, so as far as that goes you should be OK.

I would however highly recommend a good quality PSU instead. Corsair or Seasonic 500W+.

+1 for good quality.

And here is the tiered list of power supplies: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=108088

Tier 1 being the best, and so on.

Thanks for suggestions but I've already ordered this XILENCE PSU and I'm only concerned if it suits ASUS p6t SE motherboard.
