Why is it that when I am typing on xp desktop it takes a long time for the lette

Hello,my xp desktop-(Dell) has a stop and start when typing, listening to musuc or watching videos, any help
it seems to hesitate no matter what you are doing

How much RAM is installed?
Reboot the computer, open Task Manager, select the Processes tab and let us know how many processes are running.
