can i replace the 2 1 gig stick with 2 , 2 gig sticks? a store clerc said it would melt the mobo

Find another store and/or a more knowledgeable clerk. The motherboard is designed to handle up to 4 x 2GB modules.

That's hilarious I don't think I've actually melted a board since a 97 when we tried to triple the clock on a 486 something or other. Anyway yes it will work fine here are the memory specs for that board.

Windows 7 is the next version of windows to be released some time in the near future, oct I think. In most game it does show a significant amount of improvement over vista and xp.

depends on your processor. With an X2 You need the 800 speed. You should use the 1066 Mhz ram for Phenom, phenom 2, and the newer Dual core and triple core.
