Bios Freeze

Hardware:

-Q6600 2.4
-4gb Mushkin @1066
-GTX 285
-n680i MOBO
-850w PSU
-Soundblaster Fatality Pro

Issue:

-First issue noticed was no audio. Attempted to reinstall drivers for MOBO, GPU, and soundcard. Still no sound. Noticed no audio device was selected as default. Attempted BIOS access to turn on HD Realtek audio. When I press delete or f1/f2 etc, the memtest screen freezes up with dead pixels and comp cannot be recovered unless I press reset. Comp boots up fine and works fine, sans audio.

Attempted fixes:

Remove MOBO battery
Check for updated BIOS
Reinstall Drivers
Remove soundcard and boot

Any suggestions?

Do you have onboard audio? If so, try if you can get that working.

Onboard audio was disabled because it was overriding the soundblaster settings. I cannot enable it because I cannot get into the Bios

Disable onboard sound in the bios. Uninstall the Realtek drivers.
Some systems have problems with both sound sources enabled.
Remove and reinsert the sound card.
