I've been looking through some threads but cant find a really good answer for me, im planning on upgrading my M2N ASUS motherboard to a Gigabyte MA785GM-US2H Motherboard and upgrading the processor from an AMD Athlon X2 3800+ 2.0GHz to an AMD Phenom II X2 545 3.0GHz. I have windows installed on my 160 GB drive and i have the DVD so i can do a fresh install if i need to, since windows is the only thing on my 160GB drive but my 1TB drive has everything on it. So when i upgrade my MOBO and CPU do i just reinstall windows on my 160 GB and that should be fine right? I wont lose anything on my 1TB drive as long as i dont put windows on it correct?

-PS- Also im upgrading my video Card soon from the x1300 to a XFX 4890 1GB FDDR5, and i know if i upgrade it soon my processor is most likely going to bottleneck the 4890, so should i wait to upgrade my graphics until i get my new mobo and cpu installed?

Solution
If you install the OS on the 160GB HD, your 1.5 TB HD will be fine. Just to be safe, don't connect the 1.5 HD until after you install the OS.

I would wait until you do the upgrade before installing the new graphics card.
