Need a Few Pointers

Hi everyone,

I'm almost ready to build my new system. I just need a few pointers here and there. This is what I have so far:

Intel Core i7 920
HD4870
Antec Nine Hundred Case

Can anyone suggest a motherboard and RAM for me? Also, should I be going for the HD4870 or a GTX 260 or something similar? Finally, what kind of PSU should I be getting to power all this stuff? I would like to be able to add another card in the future in either CrossFire or SLi.

I've got a P6T Deluxe and it great ive also heard alot of good stuff from other people to.
RAM i got the G-Skill 1333mhz kit of 3x2GB also this has been really good, if ur going to over clock alot then maybe go with some 1600mhz RAM
I personly prefer nvidia nd i have the gtx 295, if i were you id go with the GXT 260 216 55nm model because it performs well and is a good overclocker.
Power supply id say 750-850w wich will aloow you more options latter on eg. SLI etc.

Is the GTX 260 the nvidia equivilent to the HD4870?

yes but at 1920x1200(the favored res these days it seems) the 4870 1gb pulls ahead and since 4870 1GB toxic's are so cheap it would probably make sense to get one of those.

Get a corsair 750TX or 850TX as they seem to be the best psu's for the money.

For a mobo, all the x58 mobo's are essentially the same except some will have more expansion slots and/or be better at overclocking.
