I'm upgrading an older computer's (HP Pavilion a1010y) video card (and limited to PCI only - no AGP or PCI-E), and the details for the new card specify a PSU of at least 400w. Is there any reason why I can't just remove the old PSU and replace it with the new one? All of the rails on the new PSU have maximum output currents of at least the values from the old PSU, so I presume that it will work.

what video card? the pci bus will limit what video card you are putting in there and might not even be worth the money

it should work, though, i would return the video card, not get the PSU and save the money for a new computer because that is 35+cost of video card pretty much down the drain

also, the PSU you chose isn't that great of quality, you should be choosing from corsair, seasonic, pc power and cooling
