Can Gigabyte gbb36x SATA controller handle port multipliers?

Hello,

I do a lot of video and recently purchased a decent eSATA enclosure. The enclosure uses a port multiplier to allow me a fast raid 0 setup, however it seems the onboard esata doesn't want to recognize the port multiplier and i'm forced to install the cheap board the thing came with. I'd rather not install another board in the machine if I can somehow convince the onboard port to enjoy esata with the rest of the modern world. How can I accomplish this?

Your are simply stuck with having to use the controller card if your e-SATA port on your mobo can't support or be configured to support multilane operations. What motherboard are you using?
