I have the Intel Desktop Board D945GPB, and this motherboard doesn't even boot. When I contacted Intel, they pretended like nothing went wrong, useless Intel. The cpu that is installed on this motherboard is the Intel Core 2 Duo E8400. And, the cpu is brand new, the only reason why I brought this motherboard. When I power on the motherboard, to boot Windows XP, the fans, everything lights up and work, but the motherboard doesn't show any signs of booting. I'm sure that everything I connect and the components are 100% workable because I use them on my old computer, and they work. Also, when I feel the cpu for activity, it's warm, so electricity is going through. What went wrong?

I can't find that motherboard on Intel's website, but it looks like it was manufactured for Gateway 3 years ago. Did you buy it new from an Intel reseller? If not, did you contact Gateway? If it is a retail motherboard, then it should be under warranty unless it's more than 3 years old.

I got it off from eBay. And I'm starting to wonder if this motherboard could support the Intel Core 2 Duo E8400.

If it's like the Intel D945GCZ, then it will only support P4 CPUs: http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Intel/D945GCZ.html

The 945 chipset was not designed to support 45nm CPUs.
