So my video card died and I ordered this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Prod [...] 6814102822

Just to find out that it needs to plug into the power supply, and the power supply that came with my Dell is only a 300 or 350W supply. So now I need a new one and am looking for the cheapest option. It says it needs a 75 Watt 6 pin connector but it came with a cable that looks like it can fit a 4pin Peripheral. Sorry I'm not too tech savy.

Well how much do you want to spend...
Well get any of these...All have 80+ efficiency.

But If you want to get a cheaper one, get any of these...though not much popular choice

but this is not much efficient but still would provide you with the required power...

Get a 550watt PSU with 40-50amps on the 12volt rail. That way you can run even a 4870 if you were so inclined.Although you wouldn't be able to run crossfire.Goodluck.

ATI Recommends a 450w+ PSU to power your system.
Look into a quality 450w+ Corsair, PCP&C, Seasonic, Enermax or Antec Earthwatts PSU.
Avoid a low quality PSU at all costs (Rosewill, RAIDMAX and Apevia to name a few of many).
They generally overrate the power capabilities and are prone to catastrophic failure.

^+1 for the brands outlw6669 listed, with the added comment that a quality PSU need not be 450W; an Antec Earthwatts 380 will power a 4830 (as will the 430, or the 400W models of the other brands).

Thanks for the advice all. I am looking to get something fairly quick after waiting for Newegg to ship the video card. My addiciton to Warcraft is a strong one. I stopped at Best Buy to check prices and while they are higher I found this
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspag [...] 8045946501

I also found this which is a dedicated power supply for video cards which looks interesting http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspag [...] 3815034249
not a bad price newegg has these listed for $109

Are the GS no good? The idea was to not wait for another to be shipped. GS reviews on BestBuy and Newegg are all 5 stars. But then again, as Churchill said "The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter."

I'm sure they're fine - its just the 80+ rating on the LS means a bit less power being used and heat being exhausted.
