My old 8600GT was cool. The contrast was perfect etc. etc.

My new 4850. Before where there was black, there is a slightly shade of gray, and the color richness is not like before.

Can't I download some color correction presets from somewhere?

Can my problem be because I have installed drivers from the disc and yet to update?

8.561.0.0 is the version reported by Device Manager.

You never download from the disk, alsways get the latest version from ATI's website, which I believe right now is 9.3
Color correction problems would have to do with your monitor settings, not your video card. Most monitors come with a color correction program on the cd.
