Computer with two hard drives can you unplug one of them?

Hello,
I have a computer that has two hard drives. i am having issue with using the retore disk and keep getting errors. I wonder if one of the hard drives is bad. is there a problem to unplug and just run on one?

You can unplug the hard drive that is not the main drive. That is, the one with windows installed on it should stay connected [I am assuming it is windows].

Also please do give details like what Operating System, Motherboard, what was the error you got, what was the reason to try a restore.....so that we can get a better picture of the problem.
