I have a problem with programs being very slow to start up and games giving me very horrible fps. Vista takes way too long to boot now, and extracting or transfering files is so sloooow now..
I've recently had the ECS 6100MP motherboard and it worked perfectly fine with the memory/cpu I have at the moment, which is the GSKill 4 gig ddr2800 and the AMD Phenom X3 720.
I upgraded to a newer motherboard which is the ASUS M3A76-CM and I guess it supports DDR21066. Alot of people are telling me that using DDR2800 on a motherboard that supposed to use DDR1066 ONLY will result in a slower computer that's not stable. Is this true?
I have upgraded my bios to the latest version.. reset cmos and changed timings.. can anybody give me advise to whether I should upgrade my ram to ddr21066 to fix my slow down issues? I must be doing something wrong....
I also own that motherboard. I found that I had to manually set the speed of my memory to 800mhz. When I installed the memory, it defaulted to 400mhz, which resulted in poor fps and slow performance. It should be under jumperless configuration in the bios. That may be the issue. Good luck! cheers
PS: If this is the case, you should not have to upgrade your ram. 800 should be okay
