It worked before, but because it whined near my speakers I muted it and unplugged it. Now I unmuted and plugged it back in and restarted my computer, it still doesn't work. I have a Windows ME.

I didn't know anyone was still using ME.

Did you check the audio settings to see if the mic is turned down? Not sure about ME but it should be start>control panel>sounds (or something like that) or if you have a little speaker on your task bar you can right click that.
