I voted for Return of jedi

Reply to Steven21

Me, too.

Can yall believe my better half hadn't seen ANY of them before last year? I told her she was un-American, and made her watch the first three in a row.

and i think i speak for most everyone when i say that Jar-Jar Binks is the most hated star wars character, right????

He's annoying, but I didn't get my feathers all messed up over him. I think people made too big a deal about Jar-Jar. The kids loved him and it only makes sense that Lucas try to bring in the younger generation. He's already got us from the original trilogy. We're fans and we aren't going anywhere.

I voted for Empire Strikes Back, although my opinion changes regularely. I like them all.

You would be speaking for 95% yes. Bloody bastards who can't appreciate anything.
[rant]
First there was the "Lowered Exectations of SWE1:TPH" whining, ooh boohoo it didn't turn out what you wanted, OOOh BOOHOOOOOOOO! I'll cry you a freakin' river you bloody whiners. The movie rocked, was full of action scenes and fun moments, it was imersive, tons of varied moments so that it's not a one-scene-only movie. I just have a hard time with understanding the damn human psyche in this world, seriously.

Then there was how people HAD to diss Jar-jar. I've seen the first a few times now and I still don't see why the hell is he so annoying to people. He was fun, he had his own personality. Bloody people can't like anything nowadays, so they diss on the little guys.

And finally there's the bastards who couldn't appreciate SW2. It's like in every moment of the second one, they closed their minds, so that no part could be impressive. In the end, of course they come out disappointed. I've seen it only once and think it was fantastic. Plenty of excellent moments. I can't believe how some function when watching movies, to come out bashing them.

Let's not forget how some sued Lucas for being racist with Jar-Jar's voice.... man I feel like whacking some bastards.

My pet peave about the new movies is, well, they are new. I wish they were done in the 80's, because I think the X-Wings and Tie-Fighters were cool. I mean look at them, all realistic and dirty, not freaking super shiney and speck free. Although we know how unrealistic it all is, it brought reality into the picture when the best stuff was dirty and used. In the first two episodes, all the ships are WAY more high tech than those in the future (episodes 4,5, and 6). The characters didn't bother me near as much as the change in the whole mood of the movie. If the Millenium Falcon was so old and such, how come everything from the same age looks so differently designed, like the Millenium Falcon was old even in Episode 1 (yeah, I know, it wasn't in episode 1, but is it was, it would still look outdated)

I still cling to the wholoe 'everything looks like its been used' thing. Where are the scratches? Dirt? Blast marks? Repair Panels? Levers and Knobs (now all touch screen, in the past)? I hope you get my drift, technology is way ahead of its time in the past, and moved down hill in the future. I want consistancy and flow. If he wanted to make a new movie, name it something else, don't defile Star Wars by changing it so radicly.

You make a point though. However you must remember back then, it was conceived at the height of man's technology available and able to be used for his imagination. Today that technology is even stronger, and therefore it is only normal they can develop it. I doubt they'd ever want the same graphical styles and environments as in the SW 4-5-6 trilogy, when the camera itself gave a darkened appeal.

Still, at least you didn't complain about the movies and said they sucked or something.

You have been bad and now will have to be punished.
Your actions are inexcusable, and Poobaa we have to punish you as well for this injustice.

You will need to watch in the following order
Star Wars
Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi
The Phantom Menace
Attack of the clones
You will write a detailed movie report say 20 pages or so and apologize for such ignorance. If you complete this task in the assigned time frame you will be spared punishment by Wingding. You have one day to complete this. [/funny]

I actually enjoyed the movies, I just had a few small issues about consistancy.

eah, overall they were good shows, can't wait for all of them to be done so I can buy the 9 (probably a 9+1 special disc) DVD box set that is inevitably going to come out.

Lucas has said the 4,5 & 6 won't be coming out on DVD, as there is no additional footage for them to be shown. He may change his mind in the future, but for the moment, looks like it's tape only.

I guess it would have to be Return of the Jedi. I was still a little young when Empire came out but I remember fully going to the movies to see Return of the Jedi. My mom let us out of school that day (She's a Sci-Fi junkie) so I dont think any other Star Wars movie will ever have a chance... even if it's better.

I don't see how the whole 1-9 set wont be in a box of DVD's. It would be one helluva seller when all the movies are done.

9 ??? I though there were 6.

and im sure once episode 3 gets released, a box set will follow.

Reply to Steven21

There are episodes 1-3 (3 not done yet) 4-6 (The original 3) and 7-9 (the three that will be done after the third episode is complete). So yes, there will be 9, unless he quits, but according to him a few years ago, he was going to do all 9 episodes.

he might do them cgi, but there is no way he could do live action. what the hell would 7,8,9 be about anyway. star wars is about the fall and redemption of anakin which is complete by end of jedi?

EMPIRE STRKES BACK

Reply to phikita

Yeah, Empire Strikes Back. I will say that I liked The Phantom Menace better than Attack of the Clones, but only because of Darth Maul and his double-saber. BTW, he isn't making 7, 8, or 9. I know this wasn't known back when you guys posted your messages, but I just thought I'd add it.
