How can this happen, and how do I get my hard disk drve back

I reinstalled Windows XP. after installation the computer works good. Except my largest hard drive appears to be missing. How can a 300+gig hard drive dissapear. How do I fix this I really need this drive. someone help me out please.

Go into disk management and assign it a drive letter.

I found the problem. I need to reinstall drivers. now the drive is G, it was F. thanks for the help
