Good news for us Brits, the HD4890 is out in the wild, as promised. Prices seem to be between 210 and 260 pounds but look to be averageing 225-230.
The GTX275 is also up on the Overclockers site for delivery, 230 Coins of the Realm, guv, prices seem to be 15-20 pounds over the Hd4890 on average although the other sites only have them on pre order, I suspect the Overclockers entry is a typo:(
With these cards so similar in price and performance it`s going to be a ugly, bare knuckle fight for our money and I hate to think what`s going to happen to the HD4870/GTX260-Thunder Dome perhaps? Two cards enter one card leaves?
Still, you`re never too old to enjoy a good fight.

I'd go for the asus 4890 as those are most likely to hit 1ghz on air imo, however it's also on pre-order at Scan. Seems there are plenty of others around.

OCUK have the asus at least, decent price compared to Novatech.

I very much doubt you will find any 275's until 2 weeks time, on the other hand I would also expect the 4890's to fall in price very soon. I'm also waiting on cat 9.4 benchmarks before making up my mind whether to buy one.

Pretty easy choice I'd say - wait 2 weeks then buy the cheapest one.
