will download these do some tests and post screen shots

thanks for the help

I don't think this your issue, but your GPU is a bit too hot at idle. It's still acceptable, probably, but warm. Try using the CCC overdrive utility to manually adjust the fan. My Sapphire doesn't go beyond 60C under load, so although your XFX doesn't use the same cooling system, it should idle a bit cooler.

I'm a bit amazed that your SPD tab shows 1.5V for all settings... I have to wonder about that. I would think 1.65 would be right, but unless you are haveing stability issues it's not important.

So we seem to have two different issues here, hard drive performance and network performance.

You could use 3D traceroute (one of my favorites) to ping an external site and see where your connection is stumbling.
http://www.d3tr.de/
It also impresses the heck out of the network techs the cable/phone company sends over to fix their problem, if it is theirs. You'll be able to see graphically which hop is not working right, so if you are having troubles between the computer and router you'll see that.

See how your drive does with HDTune:

i have no stability issues, everyhting is runnig as out of the box so to speak nothing has been tinkered with, im about to install cat9.2 drivers so i will tweak the fan speed after that

as for the spd would that cause it to seem sluggish at time?

got my network connection sorted ,it was my local exchange having problems, HD checks out ok with HD tune

never over clocked anything before but a few have said i should look at doing it

is it worth it with my set up

thanjs again for the help

You would probably want a better CPU cooler to OC.

No, I don't think any sluggishness can be attributed to the RAM.

A new installation of Vista can be a bit laggy at first due to drive indexing... I wonder f that is what is going on.
