Are there any motherboards out there 2 day that allows have both crossfire and sli compatibility, i'm not asking if you can run both at the same time because i'm pretty sure thats not possible.

No motherboards currently support that to my knowledge and I doubt there will be as the chipset manufactures support only one or the other.

You are better off to get the best single card you can afford and just simply trade it out for a newer one when more power is needed. I have had 3 cards in SLI and probably wont go in that direction again as I now have one that is just as powerful and much much much less heat and power requirements.

Exactly, most of the x58 boards do ,and I heard theres a bios for certain Asus x548 boards also, not positive as I havent seen it but I know my x58 Asus P6T Deluxe does.

I believe the bad axe intel board does also.

Great to know. My question would be has anyone put this to the test and does it work as well as a board that only goes one way or another?

This is an interesting new feature and a huge benefit to the end user...
