Problems with my keyboard

Hello, for some reason when i try and type number two this comes out "@" it seems my keyboard is on permanent "alt" or something? what do i do?

That would be the "shift" is on. Do letters show up as CAPS?

Silly question, I'm sure, but have you tried rebooting?
