Hi,

I looked at alot of cases many have a warning from the buyer: Cons: Only one that I can think of is that the PSU is mounted on bottom, which could be a problem if you dont have long enough cables on your PSU.

My PSU to power the Motherboard cables are only 19" long. Fine for Top mounted...will they be ok for Bottom mounted???

Hi,

No I'm not looking to hide them, I don't want to have to run them across the MoBo. Look at the picture below at a left angle you use alot more cable than in a streight line. Now that I look closer at the picture it appears to be Ok :D

I have the Antec 900, my cables make it just fine, but i have built a few Coolermaster 690 cases, if your power cord is longer than the Coolermaster extreame power series PSUs you'll be fine. Great case, i just don't like it very much, doesn't umm "build very easy", but thats just my opinion.

Hi,

Which case do you recommend for a build that will have only 1 of each drives?

well... thats up to you, i always recommend antec, very solid cases(cold roled steel), the 900 case can get a bit noisy but that can be cured with a fan controller, Coolermaster cases are surprizingly quite, im considering to get myself a P183 ( http://www.antec.com/Believe_it/product.php?id=MTgwOA== ).

As for your question, the 900 might be a bit over kill if you only going to have one HDD and one DVD/cd/blue-ray drive, unless your thinking of getting additional HDD's...

Hi,

Thanks for the replies so far all very helpfull.

I spent the night loooking at cases both top & bottom PSU mounted...now I have a new concern venting the 130mm fan on top my PSU...some cases have vents others do not...if no vent or fan then would I need to have the PSU fan face down into the case. Does that mean a heat problem for the PSU sucking in hot air?

Even tho my case does have a bottom filtered vent for the PSU I still mounted mine with the fan facing up. I am not completely sold on the positive pressure case idea so I added it to my exhaust fans and it would be a pain to remove the PSU every time I needed to clean the filter.
