Ok guys Building a PC for my little Brother
It equal's out to be just under my $2000 limit
My main query is if i put all this together will it work?
is anything bottle necking or just general suggestions THANKS!

Well there are many things tat u can change ...
1. The intel mobo u have chosen has various compatibility issues with many components...
2. U can go for a better PSU like corsair or the PC&P
3. Its nt worth to go wit DDR3 and Core2 because the DDR2 provides the required memory power for the core2...

And regarding ur budget, u can get a far more better config than wat u currently have posted...can u say whether u are buying preassembled or its gonna be home built??? and is it in USD ???

i agre with gkay, I would not recommend the intel mobo, i,d go for a Asus, or gigabyte mobo.

as for a psu i would recommend a corsair or zalman psu, PP&C makes great psu's but are not silent enough for me.

with the money you save on the ram you could get a Q9550 cpu.
DDR3 ram is way to expensive and a waste of money that is spend better elsewere. just go for DDR2

Everything looks fine to me, my only suggestion would be to get some good DDR2 instead. Use DDR3 if you are going i7 other than that most people stay away from it. You don't see a big enough performance difference to justify the price premium right now. A good set of DDR2 800 will be fine, if you plan on high overclocks 1066.

Tell us;
1. what size monitor you will be using,
2. the main uses for this rig,
3. when you plan on building,
4. what components you already own that will be used in this build,
5. if you have any brand preferences
6. where you are and what currency you use, as well as places to buy from if not in the US.
7. if you will OC or xfire/SLI
That info will help us build you the best PC for you/your brother. For $2000 USD, an i7 is well within reach and you should be aiming for that.

AH first off I am Australian. So everything is in aussie dollar
second: Everything will come from umart.com.au (milton store)
third: This my the build of my current PC :
Thermaltake Tough Power 750W Modular PSU
Zalman CNPS9700NT CPU Cooler, 2-Ball bearing, Multi Socket, Ultra Quiet
Western Digital 500G SATAII 7200 rpm HDD Green Power
Intel CORE 2 QUAD Q9450/2.66GHz/12MB CACHE/1333MHz FSB/LGA775
NZXT Nemesis Elite ED Case Black Body Silver Front Panel with Blue Led
Intel BLKDX48BT2 X48 ATX 1600FSB DDR3 1600 3xPCIex16 GigaLAN RAID
Gigabyte GF GTX 260 PCI-E 2.0 896MB DDR3 448-bit 575/2000MHz Dual Dual
OCZ 4G(2x2G) DDR3 Reaper 1600 PC12800
I run dual monitors and can max out on cod4 with stable frame rate.

I would pretty much like to get the same thing for my brother but Umart doesn’t stock some of those products mainly the Ram mobo and graphics card

To be honest I put these parts together in under half an hour so I didn’t look into the combat ability issues that much (that’s why I put it on here)

He will be using one monitor 24inch that’s all I can tell you about the monitor

Main uses will be for gaming mainly cod4/5 wont be anything as intense as cyrsis.
His Pc will also be using Vista.
I’ll get Umart to put it all together for us.

Cheers for all the responces so far!

no, that mobo only supports ddr2, that is ddr3. I would just stick with ddr2 as it will be cheaper, and you don't need more than 4 gb of ram anyways for gaming, only video editing or cad would really merit more than 4gb.
