Hey-
I need some help, I am refurbishing an old computer which was an ASUS A8N5X with a AMD ATHLON 64 X2 3800+ DUAL CORE s939 and a EVGA 6800-GT 256MB PCI-EX w/dual DVI & TVO video card. I am building a separate fairly good game system so I don't need this to be an A+, I'd settle for a solid B, it will be for work with some low end gaming, I'll save the extreme for the other PC.

But...I want to re-use the 6800 GT card ao I will need a new MOB and CPU. For the CPU I am planning on the AMD Phenom 9850 2.5GHz because for $140 ya just can't beat the price/performance part. My dilema though is what chipset will compliment the 6800. I am partial to ASUS but don't know diddly about the various chipsets...picking the other features and functions is a cost vs. feature vs. future proof consideration but video has me stumped.

Would the 6800 go better with GeForce 8300 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131320) or the GeForce 8200 HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131318) or the more basic 780G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131324).

My question is less about the MOB and more about what on board video components will improve mu 6800 rather than impede its performance.

Any help appreciated!

BTW, this is my new gaming computer :)

Thank you, for some reason not a big fan of Intel, silly bias I think....

Appreciate the help, was worried it would not work and I would have no clue why....
