Hello Everybody

What files do I need to save when I move to a new PC. I assume I can back up
files to a CD-RW and populate the corresponding new sub-directories.

I want to save all my families since I have been playing for hours and don't
want to start from scratch again.

Any advice gratefully received.

In your My documents folder, there's EA Games and The Sims... copy the
entire neighbourhoods folder to CDRW, as well as the "lotcatalogue"
folder if you have any houses with or without sims you want to keep.
After installing on the other computer, simply delete it's
neighbourhood folder and copy yours in.

That should be all. Good luck!
