I have an ASUS P5PL-LE that came with an HP desktop of mine. I know it's proprietary but I want to know if there's any way to use a different BIOS to make it "un-proprietary."

I thought people were supposed to respond to these questions, especially when they're posted to a forum that questions are supposed to be asked! Unless y'all don't know the answer! A BIOS chip would prolly do the trick but is that my only options. As many hardware tweakers as there are out there someone should know something. Whatever!

You're welcome to try to flash a different bios and risk a bad flash. Most "wrong" bios programs for any board won't even load. At least with a bios chip you'll have a second chance. Many oem boards from hp and dell are worth more than regular boards due to their proprietary software. I would sell the board and get something else rather than try flashing a different bios.
