NEED SOME SERIOUS ADVICE/HELP HERE GUYS
HOPIN FOR UR REPLIES GURU'S...
I believe that the Q9550 has two channels of 6MB cache making 12mb thats why they listed it
as each core is doubled up each half gets access to 6mb each side now as the q9550 is not a true quad core but a bunk bed variety - a true 4 core would have 3mb per cpu to make the 12 if that makes sense.
I guess in a few years time we will have 48mb cache processors with 12mb per core...
anyway what they are saying is true but they forgot the x2 6mb cache on the description
Get your q9550 at newegg, microcenter, or Fry's. All offer good service. Newegg is still the best. It's possible someone had a typo error on the specs.
oic.. thanks guyz.. love yah!
cuz their pricelist says Q9550 6mb cache^^ and they got the lowest price in town so i got a bit of doubt back there.. anywayz.. im about to buy it 2days from now(hopefully)^^
a q9550 are basicly 2 c2d's with each having 6 mb cache making it a total of 12. in a way they r right dw bout it . but i agree go to newegg etc for your pc ''shizzle''

+1, It happened with the Q6600 as well, I remember seeing a webvert listing it as being 9.6ghz ie 4 cores @2.4 each making 9.6 overall, obvious really.

well.. sorry but i think p5q wins it, i guess i wont need crossfire cuz i dont even know what that isT_T sorry again.. anyway, i have less than 4hours to decide on this..
final build will be:
q9550
p5q
gtx260
sata 320g(enuf for what i need "for now" )
pc 800 2GB ddr2 x2 (4gig ram)
600w psu (acbel)
and everything follows...
any comments guys?
suggestions?
violent reactions^^,
P5Q
Q9550
GTX260
2x2gb DDR2 800 ram
600W psu ( the OCZ you listed is ok but i prefer Corsair )
320gb is fine if your OK with the space.
Any MidTower CASE ( good airflow is to take into consideration )
DVD ?
22" monitor is nice paired with a GTX260
If you can add a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme as cooling it would be nice.
