Which is faster memory wise, 1603 at 8 8 8 24 ( Auto Setting is 9 9 9 24) or under clocked 1233 at 7 7 7 24

Not always. And CL is relative to the speed...

8 * 1/800 = 10 ns
7 * 1/615 = 11 ns

So the real latency is smaller at 1600

I was under impression that timings were considered better than speed.

OK Thanks I put it back to 8 8 8 24. I would like to get it work at 7 7 7 24 my memory is Super Talent WB160UxxG7 rated at 7 7 7 24
