PCI adapter to wireless printer do I have the right gear

I am currently building a new computer and I need to be able to connect to my printer wirelessly but I am not sure I have the right hardware. Right now the LAN cable comes out of the wall and connects to the back of the computer. Then I bought one of these wireless pci adapters like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833315041 and I have this printer with wireless capability http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16828113291&cm_re=brother_wireless_laser_printer-_-28-113-291-_-Product

Is there a way to connect to the printer this way? Without using a router?

  1. The wireless adapter's utilities (or Windows Networking, Wireless) should detect the printer's signal. If not you might have to link via ethernet cable to set the printer up. The IP address of the printer should be mentioned in the manual -- as should instructions for setting up.
