  1. Hi.

What other components do u have? mobo and CPU.

I'd not go with a 68xx series right now.

    I have A i7-950 processor, Gigabyte UD3R Mobo and 4 GB G.skill ripjaws @ 2000Mhz
  3. How about 2 x 460s or 5770s
  4. The 68xx series is very new now and for experience I know that the 1st series isn't always the best.

The GTX470 drop his price so I'd go with one of those GTX470 and maybe in the future u can add another one for SLI or change it when the full-fermy comes out or the 68xx series has better performance and price.

Thanks for the reply I think I'm getting a 470 and now a bit confused whether to take MSI or Gigabyte....both cards perform the same way and have good heat sinks but the Gigabyte has a HDMI port while MSI has a mini HDMI port.....do u think the HDMI will perform better in video quality than Mini...? or is it ok that I buy HDMi to Mini HDMI adapter.......will there be any difference in Video quality if I use an adapter??

Right now I want to buy a single card as I think going for 2 GPU's will be an overkill..........It's likely that I'm buying only single GPU may be a 470 or 5870 or 6870.....
  7. The 5870 although older, is faster than the 6870. The 68xx line is actually the successor to the 57xx line. Gotta love AMD's naming scheme
  8. what resolution are you gaming at anyway?
  9. I'd take a look of EVGA GPUs some has very good features for a good price and with life time warranty that maybe doesn't mean nothing for other but if u try someday to re-sell the GPU is a good deal.
  10. I agree with EVGA, they also have great costumer support. XFX is another company with really good warranties on their cards
  11. Agreed both EVGA and XFX, can't go wrong with either. Also Sapphire is another good company.

All things considered, the 5850 is still a great buy and comparable to the 470.

Should be no issues using an adapter, however you should consider a DVI to HDMI video cable or a HDMI to mini-HDMI cable so as not to worry about an adapter.
  12. Do you have a budget?
  13. Go with an nvidia card, theyre making a major come back with their new fermi cards, they can over clock well 2, msi comes with good overclock software if your into that.
