whats up all.. I would really like to improve sound quality on my computer, music etc... I have standard audio on my 780i ftw connected to a sony home theater system with a simple aux cable. Do you guys have any suggestions to what cables i could use or if a sound card like the X-fi sound blaster woulder make much of a difference? Thanks alot :) :sol:

What do you mean by aux cable? are you talking optical cable? If so then it doesn't matter what audio processing the board has because it's passing a digital signal off to your amplifier for processing and if that's not how you have it connected I would suggest doing that.

I need to know the type of setup your using, but if your using a digital connection, you can't improve your signal any longer. Most sound cards focus on upgrading an analog signal.

And FYI, for a HT setup, an ASUS card (STX Essence, HDAV1.3) wipes the floor with the competition.
