First of all, how can i overclock my laptop for free? And what are the risks & precautions i should take ? And i have core 2 duo with each core having 1.3 GHz, is it good for intense gaming?
Laptops have very tight enclosures which just compound the heat problem. That's why they are made to run slower than desktops: to reduce the heat. Overclocking adds heat, so cooling is of paramount importance. Cooling adds complexity, and, more to the point, increases the overall volume of the unit, which kind of defeats the purpose of having a laptop.
generally you dont want to overclock a laptop because like it was stated above HEAT!!!! When overclocking ANYTHING heat is your worst enemy. General laptops dont have any cooling that is worth a flip so you will eventually kill it due to heat.
