I am about to invest in a new graphics card and need a little help.
I am getting the ATI 4870 but I am unsure whether to get the 512mb or 1gb. I have read the reviews on newegg and the reviews for the 1gb card say that it runs on the warmer side. Would this be something to worry about or is it ok. The price difference is only $15 so the price isn't a real concern. I will be using it to run Crysis and Warhammer Online.
Also I'm not 100% sure, but a PCI Express 2.0 X16 card can run in a regular PCI Express X16 slot right?
if you only game at 1400 x 1050 then go with the 512mb. The 4870 1gb is mainly for 1680 x 1050 and higher. I just upgraded from a gts 640 mb to a 4870 1gb for my res of 1920 x 1200 and never looked back.
