windows sounds not working

Archived from groups: microsoft.public.windowsxp.configuration_manage (More info?)

My sounds work fine in all applications except that the
start windows and exit windows do not work when rebooting.
When I look up the sound schemes and click on them they
work. I woul appreciate any help
