Cpu's are freezing my computor up

ya, I have a farely old desktop pc with a chaintech motherboard (Nvidea) 400mgz plain ddr ram, 184 pin,3200,anyway I have been fighting the issue of pc freezing up, the cpu"s are always maxed out, I recently reformated it and did a ram upgrade, I have 2gig of ram now, 1 stick of 1gig and 2 sticks of 512. I also have the problem of the pc blue screaning on me,I hope someone can help me out,thanks alot

Try it with each stick of RAM on its own

thank you sir, but actually I have tryed every pattern with every slot but still blue screens and cpu backs up,let me ask you this, it is normal for instance the cpu's max out while streaming a video and maybe 1 other application,it seems like thers no difference in the performance between 1 gig or 2 gigs while I am streaming, I do notice the difference when I am not online.I'm running XP

I'll help if I can. First though could you please tell us what kind of Chaintech (is it a nF3 150Gb or a 7NJL6 etc. and so forth) aside from it has a Nividia chipset?

In regards to the CPU maxing it is not a big surprise as this is an older system and it takes everything it has to stream the video and run another application.

check your RAM via MEMTEST86+ 4.4 or www.memtest86.com
