My computer freezes a lot

My new computer freezes a lot for no reason. Sometime it freeze upon start-up and sometime after hours of use. It has Quad-Core and 6 GIG of RAM so there is no reason it should freeze. I googled the problem and there seems to be people with the same problem but their PCs were updated to W7 while mine came with W7. Should I exchange for a new PC or try to solve the problem. Tomorrow is the last day to exchange due to Office Depot's horrible return policy. My advice is to not ever buy anything from OD.

Rate of freeze is once a day.

Sounds like you might either have a bad ram stick, or bad hard drive... I would back up your data and return it to Office Depot for a replacement.
