Vista cant find my hard drive wd15ears

I am running Windows Vista 64-bit and I just purchased a WD15EARS drive. When I boot up my SATA interface sees the drive, I can see it Device Manager and I updated the raid controller drive and it sees the drive. However, when I go to My Computer it is not there at all. Any ideas?

Apparently I have to use Disk Management to add a drive...

That's right. You need to partition and format the drive before the system will assign a drive letter to it. Once it has a drive letter, it will show up in Windows Explorer and you'll be able to use it.
