Should work fine, whats your processor though? 9600 might be overkill. Is your power supply strong enough for that card? Pretty sure 9600 needs pci-e 6pin power connector.

How could we tell you, you havent mentioned any of your pc's specfications....

intel 3.0 GHZ processor,
intel D915GAV motherboard
500 GB hard drive

and have normal power supply as bought with system.

yea.. it's gonna be overkill..

GF9600 performance will be bottlenecked by the limitation of the P4 processor as i already discovered the reason myself after trying a HD4670 on a P4 rig

Biostar P4M900-M4
Thermal Take Pipe101 heatsink
Pentium 4 SL7PN 3.2GHz 1MB 800FSB (OCed to 3.57GHz)
2GB (2x1GB) XMS Corsair 800MHz
512MB DDR3 ATi HD4670
2x80GB Samsung SATA HDD (configured into RAID 0)

installed Vista Ultimate SP1

vista give the P4 rig 4.3 rating (the lowest subscore from the P4 processor itself)
the rest are 4.9 and above
