LOST XP TO VIRUS - HAVE OEM DISK FOR 5 YEAR OLD EMACHINE

Had viruses, viruses are now removed but they also took part of the Windows operating syatem with them. I ran the emachine recovery disk and now when I try to start the computer it comes up with NTRDL is Compressed Press Control+Alt+Delete to Restart. It does this over and over. Do I have to reinstall Windows XP and how do I do that from the Emachines OEM disk? All help is appreciated. Dana

If it's the OEM recovery disc then you can't most likely, but you can go to the MS site and get a copy of W7 for free.

if i remember correctly emachines use symantec ghost to recover system, so the answer is no.
