I have Windows Vista on my mom's PC and want to do a performance test on my computer which is currently running XP. Could I install vista on my PC using the same CD-key and uninstall it after im done without causing any problems with my mom's computer? Im afraid that if both computers with the same CD-key are connected to the internet then microsoft might do something like revoke rights to that copy or something.

I've done it before with two computers and nothing happens, it's going to tell you to activate it, activate it using the key on the back of your mom's computer and you should be fine.

That would be illegal.

However, if your computer was not connected to the internet and Vista was removed before it was re-connected, I suppose no one would know.

Indeed, as Proximon stated and you probably already know, it will be illegal.. but it will still work and both computers will run fine with internet.
