Have been messin' around with some settings in my RIIE BIOS and managed to pull off a stable 4.2Ghz @ 1.31v.... Using H50 for cooling, idling at 40C with loads up to high 70's, occasionally will touch into 80's, but very rarely. If anyone with the same processor would like the specific variables to input in yours, please let me know! Not using X.M.P. profile, using Manual, so not very many AUTO's in the fields..

Some might say "why push it to 4.2, when there's little difference from 4.0", etc etc., but I definitely notice a performance boost, even if (in same cases) it's subtle...

Yeah thats what im saying I got it stable @ 1.31... Makes a slight temp difference of ~1-2C. if u want I can post all the bios settings.

Good job.

I'm surprised. I have an i7-930 OC'd to 3.8 GHz with turbo boost off (also running with an H50) and am getting very high temperatures. Idle around 43c and Prime95 around 85c.

any recommendations? (i reseated, running pump at 1300 RPM and push/pull scythe fans).

but im glad u got your 4.2. with that temp it is great!

Thanks, yeah you should have absolutely no problems getting to at least 4.0... Have u tried re-mounting the H50's block? I had to do that a bunch of times, as the slightest bad positioning on the CPU will result in bad temps... It's real tricky, at least for me..

Anyway, dunno what mobo you have but here's my detailed config if u wanna give it a go and see what kinda temps u get with this..:

Hey,

thanks for your specs. I reseated my H50 like twice already. Going to probably connect my pump directly to power supply.

I'm busy right now (using my computer, dont wanna make it unstable!), but I will definitely give your stats a shot within a week or two.

ill let u know how it goes.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that. I also connected the pumpz power cord directly to PSU via MOLEX adapter. It's a must just becuase u dont want the MOBO to throlttle the power in any way to the pump... At least it takes that outta the equation.
